Salsa Fridays in London

Our occasional Friday salsa nights in London — when we run one, it's nonstop music and a warm crowd.

Salsa Fridays are not a standing night at Changó right now — when we do run one, expect the same night you would get any other time: a class, then nonstop social dancing at The Amadeus, Maida Vale. Check our events section for confirmed dates.

We do not currently run Fridays on a fixed schedule, but when the timing is right, a Friday salsa night at Changó is exactly what you would expect — great music and a warm crowd. Our events section always reflects real, confirmed dates.

Whenever we do host a Friday, it attracts dancers of all levels and styles — crossbody (On1 and On2), Cali-style salseros, and everything in between sharing the floor. No partner needed.

The Amadeus sits on Shirland Road in Maida Vale, West London, just a 5-minute walk from Warwick Avenue station. The venue has a spacious wooden dance floor with a proper sound system that makes the music feel live. It is the kind of space that was made for salsa — intimate enough to feel connected, big enough to really dance.

What sets any Changó night apart, Friday or otherwise, is the focus — no mixed-genre playlists, no filler tracks, just pure salsa. Our regular fixture is now Monday classes and social, but a Friday night is always worth checking for.

Amazing salsa classes led by great teachers. In only 4 weeks in level 1, my partner and I are now able to dance and twirl, really fast learning curve! Looking forward to carry on dancing in level 2 and learning new steps.

Frequently
Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about salsa Fridays at Changó, when we run one.

Salsa Fridays are not currently a standing night at Changó — Fridays may return from time to time. When we do host one, it runs at The Amadeus in Maida Vale (W9 2JA) with a class and 100% salsa social dancing. Check our events section for confirmed dates.

Not at all! Most people come solo and find plenty of dance partners on the floor whenever we do host a Friday. The Changó community is friendly and welcoming.

When we host a Friday, we play 100% salsa all night — timba, salsa dura, romántica, and everything in between. No reggaeton, no bachata, no kizomba.

Our Friday nights, when they run, attract both crossbody (On1 and On2) and Cali-style dancers. All salsa styles are welcome on the floor at Changó.

Check the events section on our homepage — it always shows real, confirmed upcoming dates, including any Fridays we schedule.

Ticket prices are shown per event in our events section when a Friday (or any night) is scheduled.

Comfortable clothing you can move in and smooth-soled shoes work best for salsa dancing. Avoid trainers with sticky rubber soles — they make it hard to spin on the dance floor.

Yes! Whenever we host one, our Friday night is open to all levels. Whether you are an experienced salsero or just starting out, the atmosphere is relaxed and supportive.
